It started the way the best things do: at a table, on a rainy Oregon night, with a thrifted set of tiles and no idea what we were doing. We were two artists and best friends, and then someone taught us mahjong. We were hooked by the second hand.

But the mat underneath it all was never worthy of the game. So we started creating. Each mat is original studio art built for real play: generous padding, a smooth surface, and artwork worth staring at between hands.
